SEA’s Dr. Kara Lavender Law: collaborating to solve ocean plastic pollution
A new report, "The future of ocean plastics: designing diverse collaboration frameworks," coauthored by SEA's Research Professor of Oceanography Kara Lavender Law, was published today, April 7th, in the ICEA Journal of Marine Science. The paper was designated an "Editor's Choice."
The report is intended to guide stakeholder engagement concerning plastic pollution, and is the result of the Ocean Plastics Workshop 2022.
"I’m thrilled to see the outcome of incredible work by a team of Early Career Ocean Professionals (ECOPs) from around the world, who led both a global, virtual workshop and the summary of its outcomes in this new publication," said Dr. Law.
"The goal of the workshop was to solicit and share useful information from members of the global community of scientists and stakeholders involved in research and actions to address ocean plastic pollution. We hope that this open-access paper will facilitate the wider sharing of this knowledge and thereby accelerate actions to combat this global problem."
